Captain Jack

“Captain” Jack Nagle – Drums, Percussion, Vocals

Jack has an energetic style that stems from years of rock, country, fusion, and funk drumming. A drummer since the age of ten, influences include, Alex Van Halen, Neil Peart (Rush), Eric Singer (KISS), and Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band). Driving beats, smooth grooves, and crisp fills create a solid backstop to Black Mountain Jack’s “Outlaw Country” sounds. Jacks grooves come courtesy of Tama Drums, Sabian Cymbals, and Evans Drum Heads. Jack resides in Harrisburg, and as well as backstopping BMJ, he also plays with Swiftkick. Jack has played the local music scene with various projects for the last 20 years. When not playing music he builds custom fishing rods, is an avid bass fisherman, and a lover of automobiles

Don Meas

Don is one of the bands lead vocalists and guitar players. He joined the band five years ago when JR Thunder and Mick Edinger first decided to leave the rock scene and start a country band.

Jr Thunder’s cousin, who Don rides motorcycle with, introduced him to them. He can be found riding his 75’ Shovelhead Harley when not playing with the band. Don’s an avid turkey hunter and prefers hunting with custom-built flintlock rifles. He has played with a bluegrass band for a few years and performed as a solo act for a bunch a years playing in local bars, clubs, and coffeehouses. Don prefers the older style of country music but enjoys performing the newer country as well as southern rock and blues. His influences are Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Jr. And Sr., David Allen Coe, Alan Jackson, Clapton, Skynard and many others. He likes to keep a low profile, not much of a talker on stage, but will play and sing for you all night long. Don has always been fortunate to play with some really good musicians over the years and hopes to continue performing for many years to come.

Mike Nesmith

Mike’s the newest ‘outlaw’ in Black Mountain Jack.  He did not start playing guitar until late in life.  One day he picked up a friends acoustic from the corner of his living room and started strumming.  Music has been in his blood ever since.  Although Mike has spent most of his time playing a ‘rocker’, he has always had a keen interest in country music.  He has played with Landslide, Swift Kick, Spilt Milk, Longshot, Silver Junction and Take 147.  His style is a cross between Chuck Berry, Billy Gibbons and SRV.

Mike is hoping to add a little of his unique style to the mix to compliment the outlaw music of Black Mountain Jack. Mike feels very fortunate to be playing with the talents of Don, Jeff and Mick and looks forward to many years of entertaining the Black Mountain Jack fans……

Come on out and have a listen to Mike as he ROCKS  IT  COUNTRY  STYLE’!!!
